Finding Passion, Purpose, and Connection through Nature, Storytelling & Community

Finding Passion, Purpose, and Connection through Nature, Storytelling & Community In-Person

This inspiring and interactive program is designed to help participants reconnect with their inner passions, find purpose through service, and explore the meaningful signs and synchronicities the universe offers—especially during life’s most challenging times.

Drawing from a three-year sailing journey across the Pacific Ocean, including a transformative 60-day stay in the Galápagos Islands, presenter Julianne Thomas will share powerful stories and nature-based insights that invite participants to see the world—and themselves—through a new, more connected lens. Through guided exercises, storytelling, and community-building activities, participants will gain clarity, confidence, and a renewed sense of direction.

Program Highlights & Activities:

  • Tapping into Joy & Passion: Participants reflect on what they truly love, reconnect with their inner child, and share a meaningful item or story to foster bonding and self-expression.
  • Celebrating Strengths: A group-based activity where participants identify and share their best traits (adjectives), creating a supportive space to be seen, known, and appreciated.
  • Birthday Blueprint: A unique exercise that helps individuals explore their life path or purpose, uncovering how their innate gifts and abilities can serve others and enrich their own lives.
  • Inspirational Talk: A motivational session on becoming grounded, reframing limiting beliefs, and learning how to transform pain into purpose—one small, grateful step at a time. This portion emphasizes unity, compassion, and the power of community.
  • Vulnerability & Connection: Participants explore the beauty of shared humanity, developing empathy and a deeper understanding that we are all equal, interconnected, and worthy of kindness.
  • The Pathway Forward: Each participant sets one simple, achievable goal to carry with them, fostering personal accountability and forward momentum.

This program is ideal for adults seeking purpose, healing, and a deeper connection with both themselves and the world around them. It offers a safe, welcoming space for storytelling, self-reflection, and community support—aligned with the inclusive and empowering mission of public libraries.
