What is Addiction? Plain Talk for Our Community

What is Addiction? Plain Talk for Our Community In-Person

Addiction touches the lives of millions of people every year. We hear about it, but we don't openly talk about it. Join local expert Dr. Shannon Boustead in this all-community event at the Bellingham High School Performing Arts Center, located at 2020 Cornwall Ave, to learn the basics of addiction science and hear from community members in recovery about their lived experiences.  All are welcome. This event is free, and no registration is required. Doors open at 6:30pm. Program starts at 7:00pm. For more information, click HERE.

For more in-depth information on this topic, including risk factors, prevention and recovery strategies, use your Bellingham Public Library card to download the audiobook Un-Addiction: 6 Mind Changing Conversations That Could Save a Life by Nzinga Harrison, MD with Lynya Floyd.

Hosted by Bellingham Public Library, City of Bellingham Mayor’s Office, and Whatcom County Health and Community Services, in collaboration with Compass Health, PeaceHealth, the Bellingham School District, Northwest Youth Services, Whatcom Community College and generously funded by the Friends of the Bellingham Public Library.
